A book that challenges the existing notion of leadership

"Idolatry, Leadership and Terrorism" is a book that critiques the prevalent concept of leadership and authority, focusing on the loopholes in the existing system. It examines the fallacious nature of the celebrated models of leadership and attempts to explain how the world’s population is constantly in a process of becoming idolaters, worshipping authority and unwilling to challenge those in power because their own personal interests might be at stake. The author goes on to analyze how this practice of idolatry, be it religious or secular, has impacted the lives of people from all walks of life—how it whets the appetite of the power-hungry leaders whose foundation lies in the very fact that people tend to worship them, and also, how it negatively affects the 7 billion human beings whose income is insufficient and how it deprives an appalling number of people of the basic amenities of peaceful living. The author also establishes a connection between unabashed idolatry of people and the escalating problem of terrorism. The book does good work of exposing the flaws of a system that is designed to be projected as flawless, a system that dupes most unconcerned citizens of various nations. What is most appreciable of the book is that it does not hurry to a conclusion without making the argument stand on firm ground. The author’s take on possible solutions to curb the increasing problem of idolatry is very impressive and tenable.
