Mr. Williams has worked over 50 years in the military, government, and business sectors, and currently works with the City and County of San Francisco. Most recently, he ran for Mayor of Oakland, CA. Even though he was not elected mayor, Mr. Williams is still very much an advocate to make a better Oakland. Now exploring a writing career, he hopes to open the eyes of all those oblivious to what is really behind all of the turmoil in America today with the book, "Thoughts of a Common Man". Fantastic, Raw, Awesome and tell's it like it is

This book is well written with a little bit of foul language but it doesn't deter the fact that this book is one of the best reads I have read in a long time. The fact that these situations and problems that are discussed in the book are taking place right now, really foretells and illuminates the worlds dire state.

The reason I love this book

The reason I love this book, it is written by someone who has actually experienced that which he is writing about. Though some of the language is a bit graphic, I do understand why such language would be used to describe the craziness that exist in the world. In the words of Heyward B. Ewart, "there is no normal way to react to craziness." Whilst Ewart's book "Soul Rape" uses a lighter tone, I feel that Williams' notes stand to compliment from the perspective of a black man, who is honest enough to admit that he is angry. Again, the source of information is very useful to young African Americans. At the same time, I strongly recommend Ewart's book "Soul Rape" as a companion source for recovering person - hood after abuse.
