Meister Silberstorff hat das Dao De Jing nicht aus seinem sinologischen Wissen heraus kommentiert, obwohl ihm dies sicherlich hilfreich war, sondern mittels seiner inzwischen mehr als 25 jährigen meditativen Praxiserfahrung. Er ist einer der wenigen westlichen Meister, die sich diesen Titel wirklich verdient haben. Er praktiziert neben seiner internationalen Unterrichtstätigkeit seit Jahrzehnten überwiegend in Stille und Zurückgezogenheit das daoistisch geprägte Chenstil Taijiquan und buddhistische Meditation. Außerdem hat er sich der christlichen Mystik erlebter- und studierenderweise genähert. Sein Kommentar entspringt einer gelebten Erfahrung, keiner intellektuellen Überlegung. About the Author
Jan Silberstorff (Jahrgang 1967) begann bereits als Kind, sich für die östlichen Kampfkünste zu interessieren. Im Alter von 18 Jahren begann er, sein Leben dem Taijiquan zu widmen, da er ahnte, hierüber zu seiner Berufung zu gelangen. 1989 bestand er die Prüfung des staatlichen Taiji-Trainers der VR China, wo er mehrere Jahre lebte. Er lernte als einer der ersten Ausländer im Ursprungsort des Taijiquan, Chenjiagou, und wurde 1993 der erste westliche Meisterschüler des Traditionshalters des klassischen Taijiquan, Großmeister Chen Xiaowang, und somit auch erster ausländischer Linienhalter in der 20. Generation. Er spricht fließend chinesisch und veröffentlichte zahlreiche Bücher und Artikel sowie DVDs und Fernsehdokumentationen zum Thema. Nach über 25 weltweiten Turniersiegen in Folge gründete er zusammen mit Großmeister Chen Xiaowang 1994 die größte Taijiquanvereinigung der Welt, die WCTA, und übernahm die Leitung des deutschen Verbandes (WCTAG), heute der größte seiner Art im Westen. Mehrfach von der chinesischen Regierung ausgezeichnet (u.a. mit dem höchsten Duangrad innerhalb der WCTA), wurde er 1998 als erster Nicht-Asiate zum offiziellen Masters Event des Staates Singapur eingeladen. Er unterrichtet weltweit in über 15 Ländern und gründete mit seinen Schülern zusammen über 400 zur Zeit aktive Taijiquan-Gruppen und Schulen in über 160 Städten allein in Deutschland. Er gründete die jeweils führenden Taiji-Verbände in Brasilien (WCTA-Br, 2006) und in Chile (WCTA-Chile, 2010). Weitere Taiji-Verbände gründete er 2014 in Mexiko und Kuba. 2009 gründete er die Hilfsorganisation WCTAG-hilft e.V., sowie die ,Insel der Kinder’, die sich für über 200 notleidende Kinder in Sri Lanka und Brasilien einsetzen, und 2013 das ,Institute of Daodejing Studies (IDS)’. Das Institut ist ein gemeinsames Projekt zur Erforschung und Vermittlung des Daodejing und durch die Zusammenarbeit von Huizhang Ren Farong, dem Louguantai Tempel, der Chinesischen Wissenschaftsakademie Xian, sowie seinem Begründer, Meister Jan Silberstorff, entstanden. Seinen eigenen Schwerpunkt auf die Praxis legend, verbringt Jan Silberstorff den Hauptteil des Jahres zurückgezogen auf einer Insel in Brasilien.

Master Jan's book commenting Laozi's Dao De Jing helps us to understand better its meaning, in a magnificant and deep manner. Daoist books are very dificult to read, but now its became a very easy work. Master Jan Silberstorff shows the very depth of the Dao De Jing and its importance in our modern time.
